Sometimes we just get lucky. Tonight’s Hollywood Salon will be honored by not one, but TWO of our favorite special guests. Filmmaker Dan Mirvish will be joined by Screenwriting Professor Lew Hunter. Together in one action-packed, star-studded Salon! Filmmaker Dan Mirvish, co-founder of the Slamdance Film Festival 13 years ago, joins us again fresh off the mountain at Slamdance and Sundance for his annual festival report. He’ll also be updating us on his many latest film and theatrical projects. Our dear friend Lew Hunter was head of screenwriting at UCLA for 20 years, and before that an accomplished screenwriter and executive in television and film at Disney, ABC and NBC. He now teaches screenwriting around the world and at his Screenwriting Colonies in Superior, Nebraska. For the latest on Dan, go to www.danmirvish.com. For Lew, see www.lewhunter.com. Better yet, come see them both in person at CBS on Monday. One special Salon. Two special guests. Don’t miss this one! And don’t forget to RSVP…the next Salon is TONIGHT, February 12th! CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE FOR DETAILS, RSVP INFO and MORE… http://nebraskacoast.com Come to the Salon to meet friends. Old ones & new ones…to build your career…to find inspiration…to share your news and share your dreams…to have a taste of home.
Coming up: Monday, January 8th…SalonFest 2007! Last year, we started this little sampler festival to showcase our group’s best work on video and film. It was such a hit, we’re bringing it back tonight at the first Hollywood Salon in 2007. SalonFest is a 3-minute festival. Everyone is welcome to participate. Just bring a DVD or VHS videotape of anything you have made (directed, acted in, written, produced). It can be a short, a commercial, your reel, or a piece of anything you have helped create. Have it cued to the spot you want to share with group — we’ll show three minutes of it. You can talk a minute before to set it up and/or a minute after to answer questions…that’s it! It will be an eclectic and fast-paced evening…no telling what surprises we will be seeing. We’ll have the popcorn ready. And because Monday is Eric’s birthday, he’s bringing cake for everyone, too! Be sure to RSVP — details on the website.
