Four wonderful guests:
University of Nebraska Press Director Donna Shear,
Malaika Foundation CEO Natalie Hahn,
Variety Editor Kirstin Wilder,
plus Harold Lloyd’s granddaughter Suzanne Lloyd.

THE HOLLYWOOD NEBRASKANS BOOK SERIES…

First, Natalie & Donna will give an update on the University of Nebraska Press’s Great Peoples of Nebraska Biography Series for Children. The books are for 4th-6th grade students in Nebraska and potentially a national audience and will tell the inspiring life stories of famous Nebraskans.

The NCC has been asked to contribute a book or series of books on the famous Hollywood Nebraskans…people like Johnny Carson, Fred Astaire, Marlon Brando, Harold Lloyd, Darryl F. Zanuck and so many others who have made their mark on the entertainment industry. The NCC’s Todd Nelson and Variety Editor Kirstin Wilder will be spearheading the project. Come to the April Salon and find out how you might help with this effort, as an author, researcher or contributor.

We’d love your input on this important project. Come get in on the ground floor of this book series and help us inspire the Nebraska-Hollywood connections for future generations.

HAROLD LLOYD’S FILM EVENT COMING UP APRIL 24th…

Also at the April Salon, famous silent film star Harold Lloyd’s granddaughter Suzanne Lloyd will be on hand to tell us about a big Harold Lloyd screening on Saturday, April 24th.

Lloyd’s beloved classic “Safety Last” (yes, this is the one where Harold hangs from the clock!) will be part of the TCM Classic Film Festival. The film will have live orchestral accompaniment at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood at 4pm.

We’ll be getting a big NCC group to attend the screening and we’re hoping to put together a gathering after at a Hollywood watering hole. A great opportunity to see Harold’s most famous film the way it is meant to be seen, and with all your NCC friends. NOT TO BE MISSED…SAVE THE DATE NOW TO JOIN US!

It’s going to be a big Salon in Culver City on Monday, April 12th!

And, as if April wasn’t big enough for Hollywood Nebraskans…

SCREEN LEGEND ROBERT TAYLOR IS TCM’s STAR OF THE MONTH…
